Sapphire Radeon x1900xt 256M

During an overhaul of my computer, I chose to purchase the Sapphire Radeon x1900xt 256M PCI-E VGA card. I hadn't upgraded in quite some time and my latest graphics card was a GF4 TI4600.

I did some research and found that this card was performing as well as Nvidia's cards if not better. The 256M card was keeping right up with the latter's 512M version and surpassing it in some cases. I've always liked ATI chipsets although the drivers can be a bear. Sapphire has been around for a while but cost drove me to use their brand.

The packaging was typical and the accessories included were plenty. The card features GDDR3 and S-Video out.

So far I have been running F.E.A.R Combat, RTCW Enemy Territory, and Call of Duty 2. The games run as fast as I need them to with decent settings.

The next generation of video cards supporting DX10 will be released within the next 6 months. This was another driving factor to save some money when purchasing the card.

Here is a link to an in depth review featuring the card:
