I hadn't upgraded my pc in about 3 years so I bit the bullet and did an overhaul. Here is a list of the goodies:
Core 2 Duo - 6300 Conroe
Asus P5B-E
2G OCZ DDR II PC800
320G SATA II Perp. Rec 16M Cache Seagate Drive
ATI x1900xt 256M PCI-E
RaidMax 530W Modular PSU
It all started with a HTPC I wanted to build. I took some other components I had and a new PVR card and loaded MCE onto a machine. Works great btw. The new pc is running great as well. About 1.5 hours to rip and encode a DVD which is a long shot from the 12 hours it used to take in 1998 or so on my 900 Tbird.

These guys got the E6400 (stock speed of 2.13 GHz) up to 3.1 GHz with stock cooling, 3.15 with a high-end, after-market cooler, and 3.33 with an after-market, water cooling kit.
I have read similar stories of excellent overclocks from the E6300 as well. You'll probably have fun with that.
For reference, the E6700 stock speed is 2.66 GHz, and retails for around $500. The E6300 retials for under $190. If you can get your E6300 close to 2.66 you will have gotten close to a $300 value out of your overclock.
